We recently had a visit from Miguel Kreiser, a member of the GOOD BUDS team who gave us a closer look at Canada’s award-winning concentrate company and a proud Merry Jane’s Cannabis producer.

Founded in 2017 by brothers, Tyler and Alex Rumi, GOOD BUDS is a family of professionals with a relentless focus on quality and sustainable cultivation. Headquartered on beautiful Salt Spring Island, BC, GOOD BUDS grows craft-quality cannabis in living organic soils and produces craft flower and concentrates for Canadian recreational users.

As the first licensed outdoor cannabis farm in Canada, GOOD BUDS is known for small-batch, sun-grown, ocean-grown, organic weed and concentrates.

“All of our products are produced naturally on Salt Spring Island, BC, home to Canada’s warmest climate – and perfect for growing outdoors,” explained Miguel. “There’s special magic happening in our native soil, and we believe that what goes into the soil translates to our buds.”

All GOOD BUDS concentrates are made from fresh frozen or hang-dried whole buds grown in organic living soils and extracted using all-natural methods like ice water extraction, dry sift or heated press. While hands-on and time-consuming, this is part of the GOOD BUDS mission to deliver top-shelf products for the discerning cannabis consumer.

“We focus on the unique biology of the land, grow organically, and build on the island’s natural terroir using regenerative practices,” said Miguel. “From seed-to-sale, we’ve set up our operations so we don’t use any single-use pots, growing mediums, chemical fertilizers, or chemical pesticides. We also exclusively extract using gentle, chemical-free extraction methods.”

“What you’ll get is a more natural, full spectrum of terpenes and cannabinoids,” he added.

GOOD BUDS is also the first independent Licensed Cannabis Producer to release Certified Organic Concentrates, after GOOD BUDS received complete organic certification for all outdoor cultivation, pre-rolls, and extracts from the Fraser Valley Organic Producers Association.
