Today we had the opportunity to interview Natasha, a sales rep from BZAM Cannabis to talk about the BZAM Brand and what’s new for 2022.
BZAM is a multi-licensed cannabis producer with headquarters in Vancouver, BC. BZAM Cannabis has many facilities, including Lower Mainland, West Kootenay and Vancouver Island in British Columbia, and a facility in Edmonton, Alberta.
Natasha tells us a little bit about how she got started with BZAM, saying:
“I joined the cannabis industry just after legalization, coming from a business/management background in the beauty and fashion industry.”
“I’ve had a passion for cannabis for a large portion of my life, whether it’s including cannabis in my kitchen creations or reviewing products online. With such passion, comes authenticity and humble practices. “
Natasha tells us that BZAM “partners with passionate craft growers like Dunn Cannabis and FRESH to bring premium craft offerings to folks across Canada.”
Joining up with local craft growers isn’t the only admirable practice at BZAM. They are also dedicated to Sustainability; Natasha explains: “Sustainability and responsible use of resources is also important to us, which is why we use conjoined Rockwool slabs as our growing medium.”
This growth medium allows BZAM to accomplish one of their important principles; sustainable practices and environment-friendly production. Natasha gives us some insight into how this system works, saying:
“Each slab connects the root systems of three plants at once, allowing them to share nutrients and water, and allowing us to reduce our water consumption significantly.”
When asked about their cultivation approaches, Natasha mentions that “In addition to focusing on flavour, potency, freshness, and giving each batch the personal attention it needs to thrive, pheno-hunting is a big part of our cultivation practices.”
Natasha walks us through the process and importance of pheno-hunting, explaining:
“It’s a continuous process that takes a lot of hard work to find a winner out of the thousands of seeds in our vault, but it helps us grow the kind of cannabis we think you’ll dig the most.”
“Each hunt can take up to 12 months and involves planting various seeds from a specific genetic to find the one (aka phenotype) that produces the most desirable plant qualities including bud structure, potency, flavour and how the plant grows in general.”
“When we find the phenotype that ticks all the boxes, we clone it for production, making note of everything we’ve learned along the way about how to grow it to its full potential. We then share the clones and growing notes with our other growing facilities.”
Pheno hunting is time-consuming and takes a lot of organization. But BZAM is dedicated to producing the best of the best phenotypes.
When it comes to flower extraction, Natasha tells us about their unique extraction process for the BZAM Vapes, saying:
“Our vapes are pretty unique because our lab team uses cryo-ethanol extraction which produces an odourless and flavourless cannabis oil with a specific THC percentage. It’s the ideal base for the botanical-derived terpenes we add to get the fruity flavors our vapes are known for. “
The quality of the BZAM Vapes don’t stop there; Natasha goes on to note that:
“Our vapes contain only two ingredients: cannabis oil and terpenes, with no added solvents, fillers, pigments, waxes or phytol.”

“I’d say ounce-wise I LOVE TABLE TOP’s Diamond Dust OG. The buds are large and in charge. If we’re talking about 3.5gs, it’s a mash-up of Macslurry (BZAM), Peanut Butter MAC (BZAM) and the recently released Cake Crasher from BZAM x Dunn Craft Series.”
“My favourite vape at the moment is a tie between –ness Apricot Jelly or Jackfruit from the new vape twin-pack.”
When asked what’s new for 2022, Natasha highlights some new and upcoming launches:
“Our infused pre-rolls launched recently under our BZAM brand, and the THCA isolate kicks the THC up to 34-40% without impacting the terpenes and flavour of the flower.”
“Under our BZAM x Dunn Craft Series, we’ve got a killer line-up of craft multi-pack pre-rolls with two different strains in each pack (Fresh Squeezed OG (BZAM) x Vanilla Berry Pie (Dunn)).”
“Also on the way from this brand in July, we’ve got Alien Jelly (Alien Cookies x Jelly Donut) grown by FRESH on Vancouver Island. This one’s a special small-batch with extra-frosty, extra-large buds that are almost too big to fit in the 3.5g bags!”
